The New Mexico notary acknowledgement form for witnessing or attesting a signature is a document which a notary public must fill out in order to certify the authenticity of a signature. This type of acknowledgement is used to verify the signature of the principal signatory of a legal instrument. Before providing notarization, the notary public must verify the individual’s signature and identity by examining a piece of identification that displays their likeness and signature (unless the person is personally known to the notary). Alternatively, the signer can provide their signature in the presence of the notary public.
