The Idaho notary acknowledgement for a corporation is a legal tool proving that a corporate officer (or other corporate representative) willfully executed a document on the entity’s behalf. The document also indicates the authenticity of the individual’s signature. This notarial certificate is permitted for use by a notary public who confirmed both the signer’s identity and authority to sign corporate documents. Contrary to a Jurat certificate, a notarial acknowledgement may be used to notarize a previously signed document (i.e., the item requiring acknowledgement can be notarized regardless of whether the notary was present at the time of signing). However, the signature must still be acknowledged before a notary public for the act to be legal.
