Iowa Notarial Certificate – Verification Upon Oath or Affirmation

An Iowa verification upon oath or affirmation, also known as a jurat, requires the signers of a legal document to affirm that the statements included in the document are true to the best of their knowledge. The signatories requesting this notarial act must appear before a notary public with the document (unsigned). The notary will administer an oath (appeal to a Divine Being) or affirmation (appeal without Diving Being), after which each individual will inscribe their signature in the presence of the notary public.
