Alabama Notary Acknowledgement Forms
Alabama notary acknowledgement forms are used to verify the signers of legal documents. Notaries in Alabama can be found at financial institutions (banks, credit unions, etc.) or by searching online directories. In general, acknowledgements are needed for specific types of designations and transactions involving real property. In addition, acknowledgements are used to verify the signatures of important legal contracts. The signed document must be brought before the notary by the signer. If the individual is not personally known by the notary, their identity must be proved by presenting at least one (1) piece of government-issued photo ID that displays the individual’s signature. To validate notarial certificates, State law requires that notary publics must affix their official notary seal to the form.
