The purpose of the Rhode Island individual notary acknowledgement is to notarize the signature of an individual who has executed a legal instrument in their own name. This form must be attached to the original signed document and completed by a recognized notarial officer. The signer will need to present the signed instrument to the notary public in person and prove their identity by showing their photo ID. Once the notary has verified the signer’s identity, they can fill out and sign the acknowledgement form to validate the individual’s signature.
