Rhode Island Notary Acknowledgement Forms
Rhode Island notary acknowledgement forms are used to authenticate the signature found on a legal instruments. The signatory will need to present themselves in person before a notarial officer with the signed document in hand. Depending on the notarial certificate, the individual may be required to sign the instrument in the notary’s presence. Unless the notary has prior knowledge of the individual, the signer must prove their identity by presenting photo identification that bears their signature. The law does not require the notary to affix a notarial stamp or seal; however, it is still generally recommended that notaries have and use an official embossing seal.
