The Montana notary acknowledgement form for a representative is used when a person has signed a document on behalf of another individual, a partnership, a corporation, or other such entity. Since the representative is acting for a principal, it can be advantageous to have the document in question acknowledged (notarized). To get a notary acknowledgement, one must attach the representative notary acknowledgement form to the document that has been executed by the representative. The document must be presented to a notary public at which point the representative will be asked to show identification (unless the notary can personally recognize them). The notary will ask for a verbal acknowledgement that the representative signed the document under free will.
