Maine Notary Acknowledgement – Credible Witness

A Maine credible witness notary acknowledgement form can be used in lieu of other notary acknowledgement forms in situations when the signing party cannot show identification; a witness instead vouches for the signatory, assuring the notary they are who they say they are. This notarial certificate should only be used if the notary public unconditionally trusts the credible witness in identifying the signatory. The signing party must present the document to the notary and declare that they have signed under free will. The credible witness will confirm the identity of the signer, and the notary will complete the acknowledgement form.
