Indiana Notary Acknowledgement – Representative

The Indiana notary acknowledgement for a representative is a certificate which authenticates the signature given by an individual acting on behalf of another party. An acknowledgement also proves that the person’s signature was given voluntarily and for the reasons outlined in the signed instrument. The certificate must be completed by a notary public who has confirmed the identity of the signer as well as the capacity under which the individual is signing (e.g., attorney in fact, agent, trustee). Additionally, the notary must be present when the representative acknowledges the signature.
