Indiana Notary Acknowledgement – Corporation

The Indiana notary acknowledgement for a corporation is a device used by a notary public to confirm, or “acknowledge,” the signature of a representative acting on behalf of a corporation. Through the acknowledgement process, the notary affirms that the representative appeared before them, displayed a valid form of identification (or is personally known by the notary), and admitted to willfully signing a document on the corporation’s behalf. The representative will be required to provide the notary with both the acknowledgement certificate and the instrument requiring acknowledgement. The notary will then examine the documents, take the acknowledgement statement from the representative, and execute the acknowledgement certificate to confirm the individual’s signature.
