Delaware Notarial Certificate – Witnessing or Attesting a Signature

The Delaware notarial certificate (witnessing or attesting a signature) states that a notary public witnessed the signing of a document or that the signer attested to the authenticity of the signature in their presence. This certificate is similar to an acknowledgement form in that the notary establishes the identity of an individual and confirms that the signature belongs to them. The signer must prove their identity by showing a satisfactory form of identification (see § 4321(21) for acceptable proof of identity).
