The Arkansas notarial certificate (oath or affirmation) is similar to a Jurat in that it is used by a notary public to confirm that an oath or affirmation was made attesting to the accuracy of a document. The person seeking confirmation must perform the oath or affirmation before the notary public and sign. In doing so, they state that the document is accurate and its contents are true. The notary will verify the statement by filling in the oath or affirmation certificate, affixing their signature, and placing their official seal next to the signature field.
