Arkansas Notarial Certificate – Jurat

The Arkansas jurat is a record stating that a notarial officer has witnessed a signature on an affidavit and that the signer has sworn an oath confirming the truthfulness of the signed document. Prior to the execution of the jurat, the notarial officer must verify the person’s identity to ensure they are suitable to make such an oath. Any individual who declines to say an oath may instead make an affirmation (the Arkansas Notarial Certificate – Oath or Affirmation should be used in place of the jurat).

Laws – § 16-47-107
