Delaware Notarial Certificate – Verification Upon Oath or Affirmation

The Delaware notarial certificate (verification upon oath or affirmation), or “jurat” as it is also called, is a document proving that an individual attested to the accuracy of an affidavit before a notary public. The notary acts as a witness to the signing of the affidavit as well as the oath or affirmation made by the individual. It will be necessary for the person making the statement to assure the notary of their identity, either from a satisfactory form of identification or from previous knowledge of their identity.
