Connecticut Notary Acknowledgement – Attorney In Fact

The Connecticut notary acknowledgement for an attorney in fact is a notarial tool used to confirm the signature given by an individual (the “attorney in fact”) who is signing on behalf of another person (the “principal”). It indicates that the attorney in fact gave their signature for the purposes mentioned in the signed document, that the attorney in fact has the authorization to sign for the principal, and that the signature was given freely. The attorney in fact must present both the item being notarized and the acknowledgement certificate to a notarial official appointed by the State. The official must then establish the signer’s identity before the acknowledgement certificate can be completed.

The statutory short form of this notary acknowledgement may be downloaded in Adobe PDF and Microsoft Word.
