The New York uniform certificate, also known as a “notary acknowledgement,” is the most common type of notary certificate. With this form, a person who has signed a legal instrument in their own name or on the behalf of another party may obtain the notarization that is required to validate said instrument. The uniform certificate must be filled out and signed by a registered notary public who can confirm the identity of the signer(s) and has verified the signature(s) found on the legal instrument. Once the notary public has filled out and signed the notary certificate, the individual(s) will have obtained the required notarization of their signature(s).
