The South Carolina Notary Acknowledgement for Individuals is a simple notarial certificate which enables an individual to officially acknowledge their signature on a legal instrument. The principal will be required to present themselves before the notary public, be identified by the officer either through personal knowledge or through official identification, and sign the initial instrument in the presence of the officer. The notary will then be able to complete the short acknowledgement form, furnishing it with their official seal and signature. Once this has been accomplished, the instrument will be considered notarized.
