Colorado Notary Acknowledgement – Individual

The Colorado notary acknowledgement for an individual is to be completed by a notary public upon the confirmation of a written signature by the signing party. The acknowledgement certificate and the item being notarized must be presented to a notary public by the person seeking acknowledgement. After the notary has confirmed the individual’s identity and made sure that the signature was given for the reasons outlined in the corresponding signed document, the notary will complete the acknowledgement certificate to validate the signature.

Note: The notary acknowledgement certificate available on this webpage has been designed with respect to the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts, effective July 1, 2018.

Laws – § 12-55-208 (As of July 1, 2018, Colorado notaries shall abide by the Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts)
